
Blyth remains in Tier 3

People have been urged to scale back their Christmas festivities as health leaders warned the Government not to move areas out of Tier 3 measures “prematurely”. These warnings appear to have been heard as Blyth and the North East remain in the highest tier until the new year.

More funding awarded to Blyth project

Northumberland County Council’s decision-making cabinet agreed to provide an additional £455,000, taking the overall project cost to £1.3million, so that pedestrian improvements to Wanley and Church Streets can be included as well.

Energising Blyth - New Survey

Northumberland County Council has today launched it's latest consultation for the Blyth Town Deal project.
Residents are encouraged to review the existing survey and take part in the December Survey before it is submitted to the government in January 2021.

Santa Claus is coming to Blyth

Plans are in place for Santa to visit children on a sleigh parade around the streets of Blyth.
Blyth Town Council are hoping to bring festive cheer to the town with a visit from Santa, who is due to take part in a special parade so children can see him and he can wave to them.

COVID funding for Businesses
25 November 2020
Businesses which remained open during late September and October this year, but were severely impacted by the Covid rules which restricted socialising, can now apply for a support grant.
Businesses will be able to claim up to 4 November, the day before the national lockdown, and all applications must be made by no later than Monday 7 December.
