A sizzling set by local Rock band Repertoire Dogs had the punters yelling for more at The Tavern, Blyth on Saturday night. As entertaining as always, ‘The Rep Durgs’ as they are known by local fans - treated us to their versions of classics including  ‘Live & Let Die’ ‘House of The Rising Sun’Every Rose has it’s thorn’ ‘Talk dirty to me’ ‘Crazy Train’ & ‘Mistreated’ in the first half of their 90-minute set.  The crowd were in full party mode and encouraged to dance & join in the sing-a-long’s by flamboyant front-man Davy Oram, as he made his way throughout the venue singing whilst on-top of seats & tables and adorned in spandex & a flowing blonde wig.

The second half of the bands set continued to impress the busy venue, with Rock versions of ‘Whiskey In the Jar’ ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ ‘I want you to want me’ ‘Sweet Home Alabama‘ ‘Runaway‘ ‘Detroit Rock City’ & Electric Six‘s ‘Gay Bar’.

The five-piece of Kev Wells (Lead Guitar), Emma Wells (Singer/Guitar), Steven Harper (Bass), Stephen Clark (Drums) & lead singer Davy Oram became a Six-piece as Rob Bradley joined them on-stage to sing ‘Smokin in the Boys Room’ by Motley Crue….he even borrowed Davy’s frizzy black wig to get in the spirit of things!

Plenty of smiles on faces were visible in the crowd and on the band which is always the case with this established local Rock band. At least three first-time attendees that I chatted to at the end said they were absolutely blown away by lead guitarist Kev Wells with his superb riffs & guitar solo’s. Totally mesmerising.

Another cracking night had to come to an end eventually, but there will be many more in the pipeline…..here are a few short video clips from the night:
