Libraries now have Digital Champions
03 November 2015
One-to-one sessions are on offer at local libraries across the county as one-off or weekly sessions. The sessions are free of charge.
Councillor Val Tyler, Cabinet member for Arts, Leisure and Culture at Northumberland County Council, said: “Whether you are looking to gain more confidence or just want to find out more about computers, our Digital Champions can help.
“You can learn about the internet and how to use it – how you can save money and time online, find useful information, research your family history, keep in touch with your friends and much more. The sessions are tailored to the individual and there’s also help to find a job online.”
The digital champions are volunteers who have some free time and want to give something back to their communities.
If you’d like to learn how to help your child with their homework and keep them safe online, the Digital Champions are available at Blyth Library. The library also can help with Job Seeking advice.
Session times vary, for more information and to book a session please contact Blyth Library on 01670 361352.
If you have a tablet, iPad or laptop and would like to learn how to use it, you can bring it to the library as it also has WIFI.
