Former Blyth Spartans Player Passes

On Sunday morning of 6th October 2013, the sad news of former Blyth Spartans player Scott Bell had passed away after suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. The local lad, 35 lived in Cramlington with his wife Louise and young son Elliott was diagnosed in 2011. Many of football supporters in the local area have voiced their tributes to the much loved "Blyth Legend".
Ex players and local press memebers have posted on social networking sites on their sadness of the passing of a popular figuire.
The Scott Bell Fund was set up in 2011 to help raise funds for his treatment and the charity raised around £80,000 in the space of 2 years.
