Blyth Town FC vs Ryton and Crawcrook Albion FC
09 August 2016
Blyth Town FC First Team will play their second home game of the Northern League season against Ryton and Crawcrook Albion this Wednesday (10th August) with kick off at 19.30.
Blyth Town successfully upgraded to Northern League division two after winning the Northern Alliance Premier Division for the third time last season.
The second home game follows Saturday’s defeat against Hebburn Town (final score 2-1).
Blyth Town FC First Team manager Mick Connors said: “After four years, we finally have our dream of Northern League football. The team kicked off the campaign against Hebburn and the words ‘trip into the unknown’ came to mind for many of the squad.
“Hebburn Town are a team I believe will be pushing for promotion come next April. We were pressed high and struggled to get our passing game going so full credit to them for taking the game from us but we had enough chances to win and if it hadn’t been for a string of great saves, we may well have!
“As a Blyth lad I couldn’t be prouder of what our club has achieved; so to our old and new fans be ready for what I hope will be a very exciting season ahead, and hope to see you support the team on Wednesday.’’
