This is my first official post as myself (as opposed to BVEL) so I thought why not start with a bit of planning news.
Interesting bloke that I am....

A snooker hall has been suggested for Blyth under a part change of use planning application.
The snooker hall would be located at 40 Regent Street which was originally known as the White Shop. Currently the ground floor is being used by Geordie Broon and previous to that Ethal Austins and Bradleys Blyth Ltd.  Those having visited in the last decade will probably assume it's quite a small building but having spent a large part of my life in that shop growing up (it used to belong to my late Grandfather Robert Bradley) I can say it's a big beast of a building.  Big enough for the proposed venture.

The proposal is to convert the first and second floor into a snooker venue.
Something we think is excellent news for the town.
Entry would be from the south east side of the building on Seaforth Street next to Lennon Properties.  The building currently belongs to local entrepeneur, sports fan and friend of BlythTown.net Martin Trinder.  Martin is also the MD of Lennon Properties a retail estate agency named after his son. http://www.lennonproperties.co.uk/

Speaking to Martin it seems he's all for new opportunities in the town centre.
"Being born and bred in Blyth, I strive to try and bring footfall back into the town and a renewed sense of community." Martin commented, "I’ve helped several people bring different business into the Town which are all thriving. I welcome new business ideas and my door is always open to people who have genuine interest in the Town."

We think you'll agree this addition to the town will be something that will benefit Blyth in the long run.

Fingers crossed it gets to the next stage.

We'll let you know when it does.

Hi obviously this enquiry isn't for me, but a friend who visits Cramlington regularly. I would be interested to know when its about to open. General consensus is that this is a good idea.

Many thanks
