ICCQ (Improving Croft and Cowpen Quay) mini site
Welcome to the ICCQ (Improving Croft and Cowpen Quay) section of the site. This area is dedicated to a local resident led charity that continues the work of the Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder Initiative for the Croft ward of Blyth. We are a partnership, involving local residents from the area with a range of local organisations aiming to improve the local neighbourhood and keep it a safe and pleasant place to live.

WHAT WE DO...
Improving Croft and Cowpen Quay has been working in Croft ward since 2004. Due to spending and budget cuts, local people took over the running of the organisation in 2011 and ICCQ ETC ltd is now a charity working to improve the area. All the work is voluntary except for an adviser who works one day a week to support the volunteers.
Since 2011, we have worked with local schools, community organisations and groups to support activities that help Croft be a safe and pleasant place to live and work.
In 2015 Croftway School and ICCQ won a special commendation for working with young people in keeping their environment
clean and litter free as part of the Love Northumberland Awards.
ICCQ also helped bring £15000 of community grants into the area – those benefitting have been SILX: Youth Club, Older People’s Forum and Athlone Court Activities and Aspire2Achieve youth activities, South Croft Residents Association working with Croftway school.
ICCQ has organised clean ups and safety events as well as supporting Street Reps and schools to make improvements in the area.
