Town's GP Receives MBE Recognition

A GP from Blyth has been recognised for his work in the 2016 New Year’s Honour's List.
Dr Reginald Carr from the town will be awarded the MBE honour for his voluntary work with the RNLI spanning 60 years.
Dr Reginald Carr, of Blyth in Northumberland, has been involved with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in the town since 1953, as doctor going out on lifesaving missions, secretary taking the initial call about emergencies, and chairman. He was awarded the title of honorary life governor of the institution in 2014.
Interviewed by ITV news Dr Carr said "I think to be a GP you have to like people and I've just really loved working for the Blyth people, and with them."
